MusicGir Bagir iPod Suit

Internationally renown Israeli tailored fashion company Bagir recently revealed a new green line of their expensive fabric perfect for upscale, smart looks. The line, called EcoGir, includes organic components, all natural cottons, and recycled fibers all not normally associated with high-end suits - because having Post Consumer Waste on the labels doesn’t exactly appeal to Barney’s clientèle. Neither does having your suit be machine washable. Nor does mentioning the 25 2 Liter plastic bottles that were recycled into the fabric of your black tie apparel. But Bagir intends to change all that. They’re about innovation and invention and their combination of expensive-looking fabrics with washable materials doesn’t stop there.

Consider their COOLGIR™ COOLTEX® line: fabric technology that transfers moisture to the surface where it can easily evaporate and allow the wearer to constantly feel cooler. Even cooler is the MUSICGIR™ first ever tailored suit designed especially for the iPod. And yes, it already has received the Apple license and stamp of (coolness or) approval.

The MusicGIR™ suit comes complete with a strategically placed pocket for an iPod and its supporting devices which are unobtrusively located so as not to budge. Discreet loops hide the earphone wires, and soft-touch command controls are cleverly concealed on the left sleeve or front breast lapel. With a few gentle presses on the sleeve buttons, the wearer can easily play, pause, and rewind songs as well as adjust the volume.

According to this article the iPod suit jacket should be available in the US and UK for about $250 USD. Two comments:

- First, I know gadgets are more male oriented than female friendly, but I wonder if they’re even considering designing a woman’s suit for the iPod. I mean how else can we put on our lipstick if we’re already busy finding a track on our iPod? (Not to mention breastfeeding…)

- Second, pretty cool that Israelis came up with this. Especially because in Israel an iPod costs more than the combined total of the Bagir MusicGir suit and iPod in the States.
