Designist Dream

I scored big at the office this week. In the spirit of Hanukkah, my cool coworker friend arranged for a small party complete with a round of The Dwarf and The Giant (HaGamad v’HaAnak) - or Secret Santa for the rest of the world. She then proceeded to (pretty much) arrange who would get to buy gifts for who and promptly set out to find me something neato for my home.

When she called me from Tel Aviv’s bi-weekly arts and crafts fair to consult with me, I was very excited to pick my favorite animal from among these amazing Yinnon products. Of course I knew exactly what she was talking about. Israeli home and office accessory designers Yinnon infuse fun and friendly into their range of desk, table and home accessories. I first noticed them in a gift store when these flat-animal coasters caught my eye. I’m not big on coasters, but these cute wide animals seemed like a great, cozy place to rest my warm coffee mug in the morning. I checked out Yinnon online, fell in love with their entire range of charming and warm animal friends, and immediately began to (strongly) covet these awesome door accessories that are placed around your peephole. Talk about seeing you seeing me seeing it seeing me back.

My friend and I agreed that the owl and fish were the coolest. Perhaps the cow and girl were tops if you were younger or more childish in your interior design scheme. In any case, one week later, I’m the proud owner of a fun fish peephole friend! Hooray for presents! Especially when you can get exactly what you want. Thanks Miriam, oops, I mean my secret gift giver - can’t call her a dwarf or midget, cause she’d kick my ass.
